Kitsap Bank Announces 2020 edg3 FUND Finalists

Kitsap Bank has announced the eight finalists in its seventh annual edg3 FUND Small Business Competition.  These businesses, will move on to compete in the final phases of the competition, including interviews, pitches, and a public vote. Winners will be selected based upon how well they meet the edg3 FUND mission and criteria.  Kitsap Bank will announce the winners on Friday, November 20, 2020 during Global Entrepreneurship Week. 

“We were impressed with the caliber of businesses represented in our applicant grouping, and their commitment to bettering their communities” stated Tony George, Kitsap Bank President/COO.  “Our finalists who come from this pool represent diverse industries and backgrounds, each benefiting from loyal community support.”

The following companies were selected as Finalists for the edg3 FUND competition:

Another phase of the competition begins October 26 when the public is invited to vote for their favorite company. Those wishing to vote can go to https://www.kitsapbank.com/business/edg3-fund/ from October 26 – November 6 to view background information and videos about the eight finalists. The results of this vote will determine the Public Favorite Award winner.

Prizes and prize money have been increased in 2020. 

  • edg3 FUND Grand Prize - $25,000 goes to the business that in the judges’ opinion best demonstrates their commitment to the triple bottom line business model, contributing to the community economically, socially and environmentally.
  • Innovation Award - $10,000 goes to the company that demonstrates creativity, innovation and resiliency, providing unique solutions, products and services to remain relevant, competitive, and focused on long-term growth.  Faced with challenges, the business adapts and overcomes obstacles.
  • Community edg3 Award, a #causegood Commitment to the Community - $5,000 will be awarded to the business deemed most committed to making a difference in its community – giving back through volunteer work or monetary donations, and working cooperatively with others to strengthen the community.
  • Public Favorite Award - $5,000 goes to the business that receives the highest number of votes in the online public vote.

The mission of edg3 FUND (pronounced edge fund) is to recognize entrepreneurs dedicated to growing their community in three ways:  economically, socially, and environmentally.  The bank received numerous applications from entrepreneurs throughout Western Washington representing industries ranging from food/beverages to arts, technology and agriculture.
