Kitsap Bank Announces edg3 FUND Keynote Speaker

Kitsap Bank is pleased to announce that renowned speaker, author and businesswoman, May McCarthy will be the keynote speaker at the sixth annual edg3 FUND Small Business Competition on November 21 at Kitsap Conference Center in Bremerton. Author of “The Path to Wealth” and “The Gratitude Formula”; Ms. McCarthy is a serial entrepreneur, investor, international speaker, radio show host, and business consultant.  During her career, she has also worked for Fortune 500 companies, such as Johnson & Johnson and Boeing. Since 1982, she has co-founded and grown several successful companies in a variety of industries to as large as $100 million in annual revenues.

In 2007, Ms. McCarthy co-founded PHACTS (Pharmacy Automation Consulting & Technologies, LLC) which provides Enterprise Wide Pharmacy Inventory Management Solutions for hospitals and healthcare systems worldwide. PHACTS was acquired by CareFusion in April 2012. Additional companies that Ms. McCarthy co-founded include: Integrated Healthcare Systems, Inc. (IHS), now known as Talyst, a pharmacy automation company; LDNS, the first reseller of telecommunications services to over 2500 hospitals nationwide; and Scarlet Ribbon, Inc., a fashion show retailer with 60 weekly shows in the Northwest, franchises in 3 states, and over 250 employees.

Ms. McCarthy has been an angel investor for over 20 years and advises multiple start-up companies in the Northwest and Texas.  She is a past board Chair for the Seattle University Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center and has served as a judge and mentor for their business plan competition. Ms. McCarthy is affiliated with a number of Angel Investment groups including ZINO Funds, Alliance of Angels, Puget Sound Venture Club, and other Angel Networks in the Northwest, Midwest and Texas. She is a past board member of the Better Business Bureau of Washington and Oregon, and serves on boards of business, educational, arts and philanthropic organizations.

The public is encouraged to attend Kitsap Bank’s edg3 FUND Live Event on November 21st at the Kitsap Conference Center.  In addition to McCarthy’s keynote address, five local businesses will be competing at the event for $25,000.  This year’s Finalists who will be making their pitches to an independent panel of judges include Camp N Car (Port Townsend), Fuchsia Shoes Inc.
