Kitsap Bank announced that Shannon Childs, Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer, will be retiring on December 31, 2021.  Childs has served as Kitsap Bank’s Marketing Director for 18 years; overseeing the bank’s signature Community Connections corporate philanthropy program, while leading major marketing initiatives throughout her tenure.  Childs planned and implemented the bank’s Centennial celebration in 2008, spearheaded the establishment of the edg3 FUND small business competition in 2014, and led the bank’s rebranding effort in 2018.  Additionally, throughout her tenure, she has assisted in political advocacy efforts for community banking at the local, state and federal levels.

Assuming the role of Vice President and Marketing Director is Janet Silcott, a 17 year veteran in bank marketing.  Silcott joined Kitsap Bank in September, 2004, and has distinguished herself as an award-winning creative talent, achieving multiple awards and statewide recognition for her graphic design skills.  Silcott has also excelled in brand and advertising management, communications and media relations, and website and social media management.  She is a graduate of Eastern Washington University, Washington Bankers Association Executive Development program, and holds a certification from UCLA in Marketing with a Concentration in Social Media and Web Analytics.

Additionally, Amber Burton has been promoted to Marketing Officer.  Burton has been with Kitsap Bank for nearly ten years, having initially started her career in Retail Banking in the Bremerton area.  She later served on the IT Department’s Help Desk before joining the Marketing Team over five years ago.  Burton has capably grown in her many responsibilities, administering the bank’s Community Connections program, KB Cares employee recognition program, and overseeing all of the bank’s event planning efforts.  Her new role will come with responsibilities in digital marketing and data analytics, among other duties.

“I want to thank Shannon for her many years of excellent service to Kitsap Bank,” stated Tony George, President and Chief Operating Officer.  “Shannon’s imprint will not only be long-standing at Kitsap Bank, but in our community, as well.  She has left a legacy of excellence in our Marketing Department, with a team that is fully prepared to continue that legacy into the future.”
