Kitsap Bank Opens Newly Remodeled Bremerton Branch

July 14, 2020
Back To News

Kitsap Bank is pleased to announce it is relocating the retail operations of its downtown Bremerton Branch from 607 Pacific Avenue (6th and Pacific) to 1000 6th Street (6th and Warren, next door to Starbucks) effective Monday, July 13, 2020. This move provides the opportunity to offer state-of-the-art banking services to clients in a newly remodeled facility.  Following the relocation, the bank will begin remodeling the Sixth and Pacific building, dedicating the space to commercial lending, small business banking, administrative and operations offices.

“For this renovation project, we were fortunate to bring together great local talent, including Rice Fergus Miller Architects and BJC Group in the design and construction,” stated Steve Politakis, Kitsap Bank’s Chief Executive Officer.  “We are proud to be a part of the revitalization of this very visible and important corner in Downtown Bremerton.”

The new branch interior features a clean, updated look and feel; and utilizes the latest in banking technology, including cash recyclers, and both walk-up and drive-thru ITS (Interactive Teller Services).   The branch will be staffed by the same friendly team of bankers that customers have come to know over the years.

“We are excited to relocate our Downtown Bremerton Branch into this highly accessible and spacious location,” said Tony George, President and Chief Operating Officer.  “This is a significant upgrade over our current branch facility, and we look forward to providing an excellent banking experience for our clients in this completely remodeled banking center.”

The building, first occupied by Seattle First National Bank (later Seafirst and Bank of America), was built in the early 1970s. The entry corridor features technology tables and seating for individuals, or for small group conversations; and the open architecture welcomes visitors into the bank lobby.

Kitsap Bank has converted the original bank vault into a large community room that will be made available for local nonprofit organizations to reserve for meetings.  Visitors will experience a combination of past and present, as original safe boxes harken back to 50 years of banking history, while state-of-the-art audio/visual and digital technology supports presentations, as well as interactive meetings and events.

This branch features two ITS (Interactive Teller Service) machines: a walk-up unit inside the bank corridor, and a drive-up unit on the north side of the building.  Through these devices, customers are able to take advantage of expanded teller hours--8am to 7pm Monday through Friday or to use the machines as a traditional ATM 24 hours a day.

Some enhancements are already visible to the public, as mural walls depicting “The Starfish Fable” have been installed.  A nod to Kitsap Bank’s long-term “#causegood” commitment to the community, the mural begins inside the bank as the young boy endeavors to save one starfish at a time, and extends out into the community as the boy’s good deeds result in increasing impact.  The mural ends with Kitsap Bank’s tagline, #causegood on the north exterior wall.

The bank plans a soft open, followed at a later date by a more formal opening to welcome the community.  Due to COVID-19 safety measures Kitsap Bank is encouraging customers to bank healthy and safe, utilizing drive-up, digital, and mobile banking services when possible.  In-person visits can be scheduled by calling the branch at 360.874.7100.  Branch hours are 9am to 5pm Monday through Friday.
