edg3 FUND

Kitsap Bank is proud to support small businesses in Western Washington who are making an impact on their communities through our edg3 FUND small business competition.

2020 marked the 7th year of Kitsap Bank’s edg3 FUND, and the bank introduced a number of changes. Traditionally the competition has culminated in a live event with the Finalists making their pitches for the grand prize in front of a live audience and panel of expert judges. In 2020, the event premiered live online with Finalists, their families and the community watching from their respective socially distanced locations.

Additional prize money was also added to the competition – a new $10,000 Innovation Award, new $5,000 Public Favorite Award, and $1,000 to each of the Finalists not taking home a larger cash prize.

The Winners

Campfire Coffee (Tacoma, WA)

Campfire Coffee, owned by Quincy and Whitni Henry, is the only coffee roaster in the nation honoring the age old tradition of roasting coffee over an open campfire flame; bringing the world of specialty coffee to their local community. In August of 2020, they expanded from an online selling platform to opening a coffee shop in downtown Tacoma; handcrafting specialty drinks using their campfire roasted beans. Campfire Coffee also seeks to not only bring further accessibility to uniquely roasted coffee but they also have a strong social mission. Understanding the needs of their community and the barriers youth have in accessing outdoor recreation; Campfire Coffee has partnered with numerous local non-profit organizations to raise funds for kids and families to have access to outdoor education programs. They are hoping to one day be able to launch their own outdoor program for families and youth in their community.
