Community

At Kitsap Bank we live by the #causegood philosophy - committed to making a difference in our communities through donations and active volunteerism. In 2021 Kitsap Bank committed over $400,000 in financial support to more than one hundred area non-profit organizations in the Bank's Community Connections program. We're proud to support a wide range of causes including arts and culture, education, environment and sustainability, food insecurity, economic and business development, and more.

Peninsula Behavioral Health

Long-time community partner, Peninsula Behavioral Health offers a number of vital services in Clallam County, including mental health care and substance use disorder counseling. The organization provides care to over 3,000 area residents, including almost 900 children.

In 2021 Kitsap Bank contributed $10,000 to the creation of the “Kitsap Kloset” at Peninsula Behavioral Health. Oftentimes people entering Peninsula Behavioral Health's Crisis Center have nothing but the clothes on their backs. The Kitsap Kloset now provides essential clothing items for clients who are in crisis, immensely improving the experience for Peninsula Behavioral Health clients and allowing the organization to address an often overlooked aspect of whole-person care.

Supporting Our Local Food Banks

During the months of September and October, Kitsap Bank hosted ten “From Shred to Fed” events around our region. The public was invited to bring their outdated and sensitive records to various Kitsap Bank branches for secure destruction, while making a monetary donation to their local food bank in return. All funds raised during the events were directed to the local food bank in that community. Combined with the bank's corporate donations, Kitsap Bank generated more than $20,000 for food banks in Kitsap, Mason, Jefferson, Clallam and Pierce counties.
